Makke Ki Roti (Serves 2)
Ingredients
- 1 cup makka flour
- Warm water (as needed)
- Pinch of salt
- Ghee for roasting
Instructions
1. Knead the flour with warm water and salt into a soft dough.
2. Take a small portion, roll into a ball, flatten, and pat gently between palms or
roll carefully using plastic sheets.
3. Cook on a hot tawa with ghee until golden spots appear on both sides.
4. Serve hot with sarson ka saag or jaggery and white butter.
Pro Tip: Use warm water for kneading and roll using a plastic sheet to prevent breaking.

Makka Flour Halwa
Ingredients
- ½ cup makka flour
- 2 tbsp ghee
- ¼ cup jaggery (grated)
- 1¼ cup water
- Cardamom powder & nuts
Instructions
1. Heat ghee, roast makka flour until aromatic and golden.
2. Add water slowly, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
3. Add jaggery, cardamom, and chopped nuts.
4. Stir until it thickens into halwa consistency.

Ingredients
- 1 cup makka flour
- ½ cup grated vegetables (carrot, spinach, onion)
- 1 green chili (chopped)
- Salt, turmeric, and cumin seeds
- Water to make a batter
Instructions
1. Mix flour, vegetables, spices, and water to form a pourable batter.
2. Heat a non-stick pan, pour a ladleful, and spread gently.
3. Drizzle oil and cook until both sides are crisp and golden.
4. Serve with mint chutney or curd.
