Jowar Rawa Upma (Serves 2)

Cook: 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup jowar rawa
  • 1 onion (chopped), 1 green chili, curry leaves
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds, 1 tsp urad dal
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tbsp oil, salt to taste

Instructions

1. Dry roast jowar rawa and set aside.

2. In a pan, heat oil, splutter mustard seeds and urad dal, add onion, chili, and curry leaves.

3. Add water and salt; bring to a boil.

4. Add roasted jowar rawa slowly, stirring continuously.

5. Cover and cook on low flame till water is absorbed. Serve hot with lemon.

Jowar Rawa Idli (Serves 3)

Prep: 15 minutes
Cook: 12 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup jowar rawa
  • ½ cup curd
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • Salt, water as needed
  • Optional: grated carrot, chopped coriander, and cumin seeds

Instructions

1. Mix jowar rawa, curd, and water into a thick batter.

2. Add veggies, salt, and baking soda. Let it rest for 10 minutes.

3. Pour into greased idli moulds and steam for 12–15 minutes.

4. Serve hot with chutney and sambar.

Jowar Rawa Halwa (Serves 3)

Cook: 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • ½ cup jowar rawa
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • ¼ cup jaggery
  • 1¼ cups water
  • Cardamom powder and chopped nuts

Instructions

1. Roast jowar rawa in ghee until golden.

2. Add boiling water gradually, stirring well.

3. Mix in jaggery, cardamom, and nuts.

4. Cook until it thickens into a smooth halwa. Serve warm.
